Community Give Back Event

Due to the weather tomorrow, we have some logistical changes that affect our capacity at BluePrint 502. If you are registered for this event, please use this form to confirm your participation.

Below you'll find all the information you'll need ahead of the Community Give Back Event.​

Blueprint 502 (formerly YouthBuild Louisville)

800 S Preston St

 

ITINERARY

2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Arrival and sign-in at the courtyard

2:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. Introduction to Blueprint 502

2:45 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Various give-back opportunities

4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Pizza and refreshments, closing remarks

 

Note: when you arrive at Blueprint 502, your first stop should be the sign-in table. Look for the large welcome sign!

 

TRANSPORTATION

We will provide round-trip shuttle transportation between the Kentucky International Convention Center to Blueprint 502.

 

The shuttle bus will pick up participants near the entrance of the Pre-Function Main Concourse near Market Street at 1:45 p.m. Friday, April 4. It is less than a 10-minute drive from the Kentucky International Convention Center to Blueprint 502.

 

GIVE BACK ACTIVITIES

We will have a variety of tasks to meet all interests and physical ability levels.

 

These are variable but may include:

  • Spreading mulch in the playground, rain garden, and various landscaping beds throughout the campus

  • Planting throughout campus

  • Assisting with a fence-border finishing project

  • Street-side tree pruning/maintenance

  • Trimming bushes and hedges

  • Painting an exterior side wall

  • Workshop spring-cleaning

  • Removing clutter/debris throughout campus

  • Interior painting/beautification of community center

  • Assisting with a paver installation project

  • Assorted smaller or less-demanding tasks like weeding, pruning, organizing, cleaning the greenhouse, painting plant labeling stakes, or touching up interior paint

We will divide into multiple groups of about 10 people each. Each group will have a leader from Blueprint 502 or Urban Conservation Corps.

 

ATTIRE

The current forecast predicts a temperature of 60°F with dry conditions. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows for movement and that you won't mind potentially getting dirty. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are advised for your safety and comfort.

 

BRING

Bring yourself! Blueprint 502 will provide all necessary equipment for tasks.

 

Please feel welcome to bring your reusable water bottle; these are available at the registration desk during the conference.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

Pizza, beverages, and a variety of refreshments will be provided.
